Friends of the Sharon Public Library Annual Book Sale: November 6-9 More information under News & Announcements. The Library will be closed on Tuesday, November 11 for Veterans Day.

The Town of Sharon is collecting food, money, and gift cards to help those in our community who are suffering from food insecurity. The Boston Globe recently reported that approximately 1,067 or 5.7% of the Sharon population receives SNAP benefits; many more are in need but are hesitant to ask for help.

The Sharon Public Library is partnering with other Town departments by collecting food and personal care items; a donation box is located near the Circulation Services Desk inside the Library entrance, along with informational materials regarding SNAP. (All monetary and gift card donations must be brought directly to the Town Administrator’s Office at Town Hall).

While the Library does not serve as a depository for collections/donations, this is a Town-wide program and the Library is a Town department. This Library program aligns with our Mission Statement:

“The Library exists to promote the free exchange of ideas, provide the opportunity for lifelong learning, to be an essential community institution serving both individual and societal needs as a part of a network of social resources.”

The Library’s collection site will be available through December 31 during regular Library hours.
