The year is 1592. The city of London bows under an unrelenting wave of illness; the plague has returned. While barber-surgeons draw blood and plague doctors loom in the doorways of the sick Balthasar Gabrielli hastily packs a trunk in his alchemical workshop. He mutters in Latin, “secretum adest” as he flips through tomes looking for something…but what? Just then there is shouting in the alley and footsteps pound down stone stairs to the basement laboratory. Maksed men burst through the door and seize Gabrielli, dragging him back up the stairs and into the disease-ridden night. His trunk lays forgotten – forever.
The year is 2026. You have been recruited to participate in the journey of a lifetime: you are going to travel through time to that night over 400 years ago. You will have a brief window of time to find and open Gabrielli’s trunk. You must be clever and you must be careful. The alchemist protected his discoveries with fiendish codes and ciphers and hid them behind locks upon locks. If you succeed you will finally know Gabrielli’s secret. If you fail? The plague awaits outside the door.
