Volunteer at the Sharon Public Library

Adults

Adult volunteers are encouraged to reach out to the Friends of the Sharon Public Library. 
Opportunities for Adults are usually reserved for working with the Friends during their fundraising events. Information about the Friends of the Sharon Public Library. 

Tweens and Teens

We are now taking applications for the summer of 2026. If you are a rising 6th grader-12 grader and you wish to help out at the library, please complete an application. You can learn more about volunteering here. If you have questions please email teenvolunteers@sharon.ocln.org


Volunteer English Tutor

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Literacy Program

The Sharon Public Library has partnered with the Stoughton Public Library to offer an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) adult literacy program. By volunteering your time to help adult learners improve their English reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension, you can significantly improve the quality of someone’s life and provide an important community service. 

Volunteer Commitment:

Commit to 1 orientation session and 12 hours of virtual training
Volunteers are expected to meet with their students for 2 hours per week for one year.
 

Eligibility:

Hold a high school diploma or GED
Be able to Speak English clearly
Be sensitive to the struggles of adult learners
