English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) - Literacy Program
 

The Sharon Public Library offers free, confidential, and individualized tutoring to adults in Basic Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).  Co-sponsored with the Stoughton Public Library.
 

STUDENTS:

Register as a student in our ESOL program.


Volunteer to Teach ESOL


Volunteer Commitment:

  • Commit to 1 orientation session and 12  hours of virtual training.
  • Volunteers are expected to meet with their students for 2 hours per week for one year.

Eligibility:

  • Hold a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to Speak English clearly.
  • Be sensitive to the struggles of adult learners.

MassLINKS Online Academy

MassLINKS provides access to free educational services for residents of Massachusetts supporting their educational attainment and employability through standards basic skills and/or English language instruction, workplace readiness instruction, and college preparation activities. All instruction and services are delivered remotely. 

MassLINKS Online Academy is a FREE DESE-funded Massachusetts statewide adult education program. Students can choose from High School Equivalency (GED and HiSet) preparation classes or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL/ESL) classes. Classes are offered fully online with evening and morning options to help you work around your schedule.

  • MassLINKS provides FREE ESL/ESOL classes to adults. Students learn to read and write, speak and listen in English in order to be successful in their careers and/or enter college.
  • MassLINKS offers courses at the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels for ALL students seeking to improve their English Language skills.
  • MassLINKS helps students learn English skills to help them enter college or advance in their careers. The ESOL program prepares students for college and better jobs!
