2024 Summer Library Challenge

Earn Raffle Tickets for Reading, Creating and Having Fun!

Summer Challenge! It's summertime! School is out and it's time for our Tween & Teen Library Challenge! Here's a handy FAQ to break it all down:

How do I sign up?
Go to Beanstack. You can use the website or an app to track. (iOs or Android)

What if I don't remember my login?
Contact Ms. Amy or Ms. Rachael. They can remind you of your username, which you can use to reset your password.
Log in with last year's info or create a new account.

What if this is my first time using Beanstack?
Register a new account.  Use an email you have access to during the summer. School email addresses sometimes bounce back to us.

How do I know which challenge I should participate in?
When you enter your grade you will be assigned to a challenge. If you are going into 6th-12th grade next year you will automatically be entered into the correct challenge.

I'm signed up. Now what?
Now you can start tracking the time you spend reading and completing challenges. 1 hour=1 ticket plus a fun digital badge.

What kind of challenges are we talking about?
The challenges are designed to help you think outside the covers of the book.  For example, you can build a scene from your book out of LEGO and submit photos.  You can create a resume for a fictional character or design a T-Shirt for your favorite book. These challenges earn you 10 raffle tickets each, as well as digital badges.

Are there other ways to earn tickets?
Yes! Each week during the challenge there will be a fun activity to do.

Each weekly activity earns you 3 tickets!

What do you do with the tickets?
Once you earn tickets you can enter them in raffles for a chance to win great prizes!

Can I get credit for a book I have to read for school?
Yes! Just keep track of how much time you read and enter it into Beanstack.

What's the community goal all about?
We've set a goal for all of the readers in this year's program - both kids and teens - to read for 150,000 minutes over 8 weeks.  If we meet the goal then we'll make something magical happen. Last year the librarians got slimed.

Can I volunteer to help with the programs?
Ms. Rachael and I can use some volunteers this summer.  If you have already signed up as a volunteer you will have acceess to a sign up sheet.  If you are not yet signed up please visit fill in this application.

Wait...I'm confused!
It's a lot to take in.  Email me at agreil@sharon.ocln.org and I'll answer your questions.

Hope to see you soon!

---Amy Greil
