Barks and Books!
Read to a Dog Ages 5+
Is your little one nervous about reading aloud? Are they a dog lover, but a reluctant reader? Reading to a therapy dog may be just the thing to kick start their reading.
How it works
Kids ages 5+ can register for a time slot to read to a dog (see registration details below). The child can choose a book from the children's room (or bring one from home). Then they will get cozy in the community room to read to the registered therapy dog. Each child will have 15 minutes to read with the dog. Then it will be the next child's turn. If you would like your whole family or a friend to join, please just register one child and leave the other names in a note on you registration.
How to register
Each session of Barks and Books is split into four 15 minute time slots. Please only register for one time slot a week to allow others a turn.
